Apple ended off 2016 with their Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus as the smartphone of the year. Other than the pressure sensitive home button and the different cameras there is no physical changes with the iPhone 7 from the iPhone 6. I guess you are excited to find out what made this phone smartphone of the year and what the changes are. So let’s get started…
Apple launched the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September 2016 to help Apple get back into the market to compete with the Huawei Mate 9, Huawei P10 And Samsung S8.
The iPhone 7 comes in a variety of colours and the one that I like the most is the shiny Jet Black. The glossy finished is achieved after many polishing methods just like the glass backed Samsung S7. The downside is that this colour is prone to scratches and oily fingerprint marks so you’ll have to get a cover. But on the bright side there is still the strikingly good looking matte black, rose gold and others which all look good.

Camera
Apple included another stunning camera in the iPhone 7 and a dual camera in the iPhone 7 Plus. There is a 12 MP sensor at the back and a 7MP sensor in the front of both the iPhones just that on the iPhone 7 Plus the camera is of higher quality and standards because of the dual cameras
Sound
And yes, all the rumours you heard about the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus having no headphone jack is true; which is a real bummer. The audio jack has been replaced with a speaker and a haptic feedback engine which is used when you ‘press’ the home button. The same sort of feedback you get when you are using 3D Touch on an app. Apple also removed the headphone jack so people will buy their new Apple Airpods which are Bluetooth and completely wireless. Which I think that plan didn’t really work out. But look on the Brightside there is still a speaker :-)
Hardware
Apple has put their most powerful processor ever – the A10 Fusion. The core is a 64-bit quad core processor that’s 40% faster than the A9 Fusion core on the iPhone 6S. The first two cores are for high performance tasks like playing games and the other two are high efficiency cores for checking emails and reading text messages. This saves battery life and prolongs your day with the Apple iPhone 7.
The battery is also much improved because of the different processors doing different jobs. The battery lasts 1 to 2 hours longer than the old iPhone. This gives about one to one and a half days of battery life on the both the new iPhones.
