The Biggest Change
One of the most recognizable physical changes in the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus the fingerprint sensor that has now moved to the front of the phone. The fingerprint works perfectly fine infact it is quite reliable. The fingerprint sensor also has a multifunction feature. It can used for different commands for different gestures. For example:
The onscreen buttons are still there if you don’t like this feature. I like this sensor because I’m used to owning Samsung phones with a button so the multifunction sensor or button makes navigating a lot easier.
- A quick press goes back a screen.
- A long press takes you back to the home screen.
- A slide to the left or right of the sensor opens up the recent apps menu

Design
Huawei has kept to the attractive design of the Huawei P9. The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus also looks a lot like an iPhone; with a full aluminum body and the antennas wrapped around the phone to suite the design. A unique aspect of the P10 is the variety of colours available. There is the normal black; white and silver. But what really catches the eye is the green and dazzling blue. These colours are really unique and shows personality. Both the phones are lightweight and ultra slim at 6.9mm. The P10 doesn’t have many new physical features it’s basically an improved P9. But there are better looking phones out there like the Samsung S8 and LG G6. But the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus still look gorgeous.
The Screen
The Huawei P10 has a screen resolution of 1920x1080 (432ppi) on a 5.1’ IPS LCD screen. The P10 Plus on the other hand has a screen resolution of 2560x1440 screen resolution that’s 534 pixels per inch (ppi). It’s a shame this screen resolution hasn’t been used in the P10. Another “Boo-Hoo” is that the P10 and the Plus don’t have an oleo phobic coating over the screen. By the way an oleo phobic coating is an invisible layer on the screen which prevents the buildup of oily smudges and fingerprints on your screen. So I suggest getting a screen protector if you are buying the P10.
The Best Camera Ever!
Huawei had started co-engineering their cameras with LEICA since the Huawei P9. They did it again with the Mate 9 and now again with the P10 and P10 Plus. And I must say Huawei and LEICA have done a great job. If you are a photo freak or a photographer; this phone is definitely for you. The P10 and P10 Plus have slightly different cameras. They both have dual cameras made up of 12 megapixel colour sensor and a 20 megapixel monochrome sensor. The difference is that the P10 has a pair of LEICA Summit-H lenses and a f/2.2 aperture and the P10 Plus has LEICA Summilux lenses a larger f/1.8 aperture which means that the P10 Plus should
take better pictures in the dark compare to the P10. But both phones have one of the best cameras of 2017 – so far…
