My Review

Pros:
Cons:
I don't know how Google does it, once again they've created an awesome phone. This year Google has released The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL and for the past years I was disappointed with the performance of Google devices (because Google is a software company, but this year they've made an extremely quick and reliable phone. Google has also completely gotten rid of the Nexus brand
- Super Quick Performance
- Excellent camera
- Brilliant software with fast updates
Cons:
- No headphone jack
- No MicroSD card slot

Design
Google has taken the same design as last year's Pixel and has matched it to 2017's bezel-less smartphone era. As I said before the Nexus~Motorola look has been forgotten and now the Pixel has an aluminium build. At the back there is a glass panel covering a quarter of the phone from the top before the fingerprint sensor and the rest of the back is a chalky matte panel which gives the Pixel I really nice touch. At the front of the phone the side panels are very angular than the edge panels that you would see on a Samsung Note 8. The Google Pixel 2XL is also very light it's 175 grams which is nice but it's just missing that ‘preimmunises’ that you get on the Samsungs and iPhones.
Screen
The Pixel 2XL has an OLED screen with a 2880×1440 resolution with 538 pixels per inch the colour is good but not as good as something like the Note 8 or iPhone X but against something like the iPhone 8 the Pixel definitely wins the colours are better and the blacks are much darker making t he the screen look a lot more vivid. The only problem I found with the screen is the bluish tint when tilting the phone. There’s ben reports about other display problems but nothing to be worried about and Google has said they'll release a software update to fix any bugs. Google has also introduced an Always -On feature which works the same as other Android phones that have an Always - On screen
Speedy Stock Andriod
Pixel phones usually let you down on the hardware side but on the Pixel 2 XL there's a completely different story. This year the Pixel is running on a Snapdragon 835 processer, the same in the Samsung S8. And Google has designed the processor to work together hand in hand to optimise the overall performance of the device. Opening apps and multitasking on Android Oreo 8.0 so far has no issues and is very quick.
The Pixel 2 XL comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage and unlimited Google Photos storage.
One of my favourite features of Google Products is Google Assistant which has been improved a lot especially the song identification feature which is now on the Always-On screen and it's running all the time. You can activate Google Assistant by say "Ok Google" or by squeezing the phone which is actually quite cool but you can't reprogram the squeeze open another app like Samsung’s Bixby Button. I was also quite impressed by Google's live wallpapers; my favourite was the waves crashing wallpaper.

Best Camera In A Smartphone
Google hands down has put the best camera ever in a smartphone in this Pixel. The odd thing is is that the Pixel 2 XL has only a single lens camera system instead of a dual lens system that almost every other phone that came out in 2017 has. The camera is a 12 -megapixel sensor and the camera is really quick and the camera shutters instantly. What was also really good on the front 8 megapixels and the rear camera was not only the low light features but the Portrait Mode was outstanding considering you need dual cameras to get a really nice bokeh effect.
